A woman was killed in a shooting early Monday in Laurel, police said.
Laurel police responded to a shooting at approximately 4:56 a.m. in the parking lot of 14120 West Side Blvd. and found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. They later identified her as 42-year-old Tjai “TJ” Farmer of Laurel.
Police said in a statement that Farmer was ambushed by a lone gunman while sitting inside her car in the parking lot of the apartment complex where she lived. Police said they rendered aid to her, but she died at the scene.
Police have not yet identified a suspect but said they will release additional information about the case when they know more about what happened.
